Pop Up Hotel Room in Melbourne

My timing could not have been worse, I have procrastinated over accommodation for a month for a work trip to Melbourne in July. I decided an hour ago to be lazy and just book the accommodation where the conference I am attending is being held.
Then literally an hour later I see an article in the Good Weekend for FREE accommodation at a pop up hotel, Lost and Found Hotel Room in Melbourne city. It gets worse for me who is obsessed with the pop up cultural revolution, because then I read that it is set in a warehouse space (I want to live in a warehouse) above Captains of Industry (funky cafe and gentleman’s outfitter) and this temporary hotel room is showcasing an all-Melbourne creative collective.
I was already scrambling to find my expedia.com.au email receipt to cancel, but of course the great deal I was boasting about an hour ago (cheaper than the conference deal offered to delegates with the same hotel) was non-refundable!
Did I mention holiday makers can apply for not 1 but 3 nights accommodation gratis at this Tourism Victoria sponsored pop up?
AND that a cultural concierge is on hand to help organize the ultimate Melbourne experience?
They had me at pop up! This is too much, I’m now wondering if I should just try my luck at securing a night at Lost and Found Hotel Room and foregoing my paid Hotel!
